Concert for Peace marking the 5th Anniversary of the Iraq War
Featuring
Jazz Musicians
Dick Sisto and Steve Allen

Sunday, March 30 at 3 p.m.

Christ Church Cathedral
425 S. Second Street

Free (Donations Welcomed)

Vibraphonist Dick Sisto and Indianapolis pianist Steve Allen will present a program of Contemplative Jazz drawn from the repertoire of great jazz masters such as John Coltrane, McCoy Tyner, Bill Evans and others, all of whom expressed their search for peace and the Infinite through specific compositions. There will be a period of group silent meditation.

On March 19th we mark the sad fifth anniversary of the beginning of the Iraq War. In the next few days we will pass the sad statistic of more than 4,000 U.S. military dead and also the fact that a breathtaking 100,000 (to perhaps as many as 1 million) Iraqis have died.

It is hoped that this concert will give us time to grieve the losses for all involved with the war, and the opportunity to pray for the swift coming of a just peace in that terror stricken part of the world.
